File#010: Kamakura Bridge

   

　1944年11月の夜に行なわれたB29からの機銃掃射の弾痕が残る千代田区・鎌倉橋の欄干。その夜からB29爆撃機による本土市街地空襲が本格的に始まった。大小30個ほどの銃弾の後が今でも確認できる。犠牲者の情報は不明である。(千代田区 2014.03.17撮影)

     Traces of B-29 bomber machine-gun fire in the night of November, 1944 on the handrail of Kamakura Bridge in central Tokyo. It was the beginning of strategic air bombings on the Japanese mainland by B29s. It bears about 30 various sizes of bullet impacts that are still visible.
